The allure of a seamless surface that blends into the horizon, merging indoor and outdoor into a single, fluid space.
Almont stone is one of the key materials in this private residence. Originating from calcareous sediments that give it a compact and homogeneous appearance, its soft hues envelop the spaces in a modern atmosphere. A brushed finish was chosen for this flooring to enhance its natural and tactile quality.
The seamless continuity of the material extends to the staircase, also crafted from Almont stone. Each step was conceived and realized as a single, floating monolith, transforming the stairs into a manifesto where function seamlessly merges with aesthetics.
Co-starring in this project is Tuscan Travertine. A sedimentary stone that has defined history’s finest architectural masterpieces, its presence serves as a profound homage to the beauty of Italian heritage. The color is layered across multiple depths: a beige backdrop intertwined with shades of varying saturation, ranging from earthy browns to subtle greys. This chromatic evolution highlights how the material has been enriched over centuries by unique mineral inclusions, setting it apart from the classic tones of Roman Travertine.
In this project, it was utilized to clad specific spaces, elevating their presence and significance. For the guest bathroom, the fireplace, and the outdoor seating, large-format slabs were meticulously selected for how their scale and veining aligned with the design vision. The result creates the illusion of a single, monolithic block, where the seamless continuity of the veins can be admired across the entire surface.
Travertine thus flows throughout the entire home, yet its ultimate expression and beauty culminate in the pool’s interior cladding. Here, the slabs feature a bookmatched layout—a choice that honors the fluidity of the surface by merging the veins into a single, cohesive artwork. Experiencing the pool becomes an immersion into the very soul of the material, where thoughtful design binds water and stone in absolute harmony.
